Walking before I can run…
Well, after quite some time with the old site that was not overly easy to update, I thought it best to build a new site that was A: easy for you to use, and B: easy to keep updated. Now that most of the crisis that have been surrounding me the last several months are over, I might be able to get back to building, but I am gonna make it easy for me to update you all first.
Now, fair warning, the following is going to have nothing to do with modelling… well, I suppose building a new website with different technologies is somewhat like scratchbuilding, but in a more virtual sense… anyway, there will be build updates soon.. I just have to get this out of the way.
So, building the site. I have gone for a nonconventional way of doing something conventional. I have decided to use WordPress as a content management system. Now, I hear those who are web-savvi screaming “But WordPress is BLOGGING SOFTWARE!!”, and yes, you would be correct. It was originally designed to be blogging software, and that alone. But over time, and with the ingenuity of its developers, it has become a very easy to use content management system also with very little tweaking. Because of its ease of change to a very functional CMS, I will be able to update the site from almost anywhere with an internet connection. So, this change will be of benefit to all of us.
So, what I plan to do over the next month or 2:
- I will be transferring my posts from all around the internet to here. I will be keeping any that I have on the go on sites until completion, and will be adding new items as time permits, but here will be a central hub of what I have done around and about. I will also be putting up the odd exclusive post here, so keep your eyes pealed.
- As they are available, updating George Bradford’s lists of 1/35 and 1/48 scale plans.
- And, lastly, and most importantly, get building again so I can get some interesting bits and pieces up for you.
That’s all for now, I will be updating soon, so watch this space ![]()
